Sixty-six books, written by some forty people, over a period of about fifteen hundred years, all following a unified story-line, and with one Author. The Bible.

Once again the New Year brings a new opportunity to plan to discover God through the book he has given us.

As ever, the journal outlines the well-known method of Robert Murray McCheyne which will take you through the New Testament and Psalms twice, and through the rest of the Bible once at a rate of four chapters a day. Or you could plan to cover the programme over two years.

One is to follow the well known method of Robert Murray McCheyne which will take you through the New Testament and Psalms twice, and through the rest of the Bible once at a rate of four chapters a day.

Another approach is to take the E100 Challenge. E100 is part of the Biblfresh initiative which aims to mark the 400th anniversary of the King James Version of the Bible by encouraging churches to promote the Bible in several ways, including a commitment to read the Bible together. E100 is a series of 100 readings which are planned out over a period of 20 weeks and which aim to touch the highlights of the Bible story.

You can pick up a printed version of the journal in the foyer or click here to download a pdf.
Both methods are in the printed and pdf versions of the planner.

E100 could then be followed by the rest of the year by picking up one or two of the threads in the McCheyne scheme.

Of course there are also Scripture Union, Word for Today, and other notes available as added resources. The important thing is to have a plan and to stick to it.

May you have a profitable year in God’s word.
