We build ourwomen's ministry around the three aims of the church: BRING, BUILD and SEND.
So this year we are planning three major events which will each reflect one of these aims. As we prepare for each event, we will be involved in ministry together - in prayer, in preparation, in buildiing relationships, in evangelism and in supporting our missionaries.
The first of our three major events (around the aim of BRING) was on Tuesday 8 December 2009, when we had a special evening with Pamela Forrest, committed Christian and ladies' fashions buyer. Pamelal shared fashion tips with us and also shared the story of God's grace in her life.
Our second event (around the aim of SEND) was on 2 March 2010, when we had an interactive Missions Event. The theme of the evening was 'Light of the World, Salt of the Earth' and we had display stands on Laos, South Africa, Romania, Spain and The Holley Memorial Hospital in Nigeria - as well as our own Teenie Tots' programme here at PBC - to demonstrate that we as women are called to be the light of the world through missions but we are also called to be the salt of the earth wherever God has placed us.
Our third event (around the aim of BRING) is being planned for Tuesday 1 June when we hope to have Guest Speaker Ruth Hamilton. Ruth was a missionary with WEC International for 11 years in Senegal and she now has an itinerant Bible teaching ministry in N.Ireland, mainly to women. At Belfast Bible College, she teaches first year ladies from the Women’s Study Fellowship on NT studies, as well as an evening class during the Spring term. She is married to John and they have a son and two daughters. They live in Lurgan and are members of Craigavon Baptist Church.
